Once learned reading is automatic, we can’t help it, if we see it, we will read it. -Why? - Because we have been told to read our entire lives Listening is also one of these automatic Tasks These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. Sometimes some stimulus “grabs” your attention away from the task at hand. This is called distraction. Sometimes “automatic” processes actually conflict with what we are trying to do.
