Nation a. Definition: group of people united by similar beliefs (religion, ethnic, language, culture)b. Nations can have their own State, but particularly reside only in State c. There are nations that don’t have there own State: These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. Define: how domestic affairs (politics, economic, social) influence between International Affairs 1) Example: leaders concerned with winning, looking at strength and ability to launch a War (elections)b. Liberalism: influences international politics c. Realism: domestic affairs does not influence International affairs, lack of government restrains behavior d. Types of Power1) Tangible: hard power, any form of military power, economic power2) Intangible: soft power, diplomacy, ability to influence another State without military
