AssistanceII. Four Areas of Finance Current LectureI. Overview of Syllabusa. Exams: Exam 1 will take place on Monday, March 9 and Exam 2 will take place on Monday, April 20. Your highest grade will count towards 18% of your final grade in the class and your lowest grade will count for 14% of your final grade in the class. The Final exam will be scheduled by registrar and will count as 21% of your final grade. b. Online Quizzes:There will be seven online quizzes throughout the semester. Each quiz will cover, at most, two chapters. The quizzes will be completed online. The quizzes will be open for eleven (11) hours from 1:00pm – 12:00am on Thursdays. You will have 1.5 hours to complete the quizzes, although it is expected they will take less time than that. You are allowed only one attempt to complete each quiz. Your lowest quiz grade will be dropped. Online quizzes count as 17% of your final grade. c. LearnSmart Reading/Practice Assignments:Each chapter has one assignment directly related to reading the text book. As you read LearnSmart online, you will be prompted to answer questions to test your understanding of the material. The online text book will evolve based on your performance on these questions. These assignments are due by 11:00pm onthe due date. It is expected that each assignment will take about 45 minutes. Youdo not have to finish the assignment in one sitting. It is highly recommended thatyour start these assignments before we begin our discussions in lecture. Your grade will be based on your performance on these assignments. GradeBuddy is best used as a supplement to your own notes, not as a substitute.lowest grades on the LearnSmart assignments will be dropped. LearnSmart assignments will count as 10% of your final grade. d. Online Homework: The homework assignments will be posted on Blackboard, under the Assignment section. The solutions to the homework assignments will be posted on Blackboard after the last discussion session on the date that the homework is due. You will be graded only on the Questions and Problems that are assigned for each chapter. Additional problems from the Concepts Review and Critical Thinking Questions section will be assigned, but will not be graded. Answers to all of the Concepts Review and Critical Thinking questions will be provided on Blackboard. Each assignment will be graded based on your performance. You can turn the assignment in as many times as you like, up until the due date. Grades will be posted on blackboard. The two lowest scores will be dropped. Online homework will count as 10% of your final grade. e. Ethics Essay:The Ethics Essay topic will be posted on Blackboard later in the semester. The essay will be due April 1 @ 11pm. The Ethics Essay will be counted as 10% of your final grade.f. Assistance:To seek assistance for this course there are 11 undergraduate students assigned as TA’s for this class, who are responsible for leading discussion sessions and helping with your homework assignments.
