Part One of each exam (Feb. 17, March 31 and April 28) will NOT contain multiple choice questions. You must bring a BLUE BOOK to those exams in which to write your answers. 2. Part Two of each exam (Feb. 19, April 2 and April 30) will contain ALL multiple choice questions and will be machine-graded. You must bring a PENCIL to those exams to fill in the scanned answer forms. 3. Your answers to Exams 1 and 2 will be returned and discussed in your discussion sections, not during lecture.4. Your answers to Exam 3 will be returned and discussed during the Wrap-up Session onMay 7. Missing an Exam Excused Absences1. All exams must be taken when given unless the absence is excused. An excused absence requires the completion of two steps:STEP ONE:Acceptable Reason: Illness, death in the family, or jury duty are acceptable reasons to miss an exam. Any other reason must be approved by Professor Gergacz.STEP TWO: Documentation: An acceptable reason for missing an exam must bedocumented. For example: illness would be documented by a letter from your doctor; death in the family by a letter from a family member; jury duty by a letter from the court. Any other documentation must be approved by Professor Gergacz. All documentation must be given to Professor Gergacz. 2. Failure to comply with BOTH steps above will mean that the absence is unexcused and the exam score will be recorded as "zero.@ Makeup Exams 1. Makeup exams will NOT be given for Exams 1 and 2, or for parts one or two of each. If you have an excused absence, Exam 3 will take on extra weight. For example, if you are excused from both parts of Exam 1 (25% of the course grade),Exam 3 will then be worth 65% of the course grade. If this policy conflicts with aUniversity rule (e.g., disability, conflicting exams), the University rule will control. It is the student's responsibility to bring the rule to Professor Gergacz's attention well before the scheduled exam so that required alternative arrangementscan be made. 2. An excused absence for Exam 3 will require that a makeup exam be taken at another time and date before May 7. See Professor Gergacz to set this up. If that is not possible, see Professor Gergacz to arrange otherwise making up the work. This may include receiving an incomplete in the course, taking a later makeup exam, writing a research paper or similar work.
