Economics and its DivisionsEconomics explains how individuals use their money and resoucres when having unlimited wants and limited resources. Through its two divisions we can study how the small business and households think when handling their money, which is microeconomics, and how the economy is doing with their money on regional, national and international levels, which is macroeconomics.II. Goals of the ProfessorBy the end of the semester Professor B. would like us as a class to better understand the world on a higher level of thinking. By understanding macroeconomics we can help ourselves, and maybe even our future employers, make better decisions with our money and thinking.III. Class Expectations and Requirements for Homework and ExamsNot very many people likes a boring class where the professor talks at you instead of to you. Therefore, Professor B. has decided that by having class discussions you can better grasp thematerial. So he expects you to read the material before class so that as a class you can ask questions and get a deeper understanding of the material. Secondly, each student much purchase McGraw Hill Connect, which is what all of our homework will be done through, and it also contains an eBook for the class so you don’t have to buy a paper copy unless you’d like. There are two types of homework. One is LearnSmart which includes reading the textbook online and then answering questions that is due by Tuesday at 8 am. The second kind of homework contains one or two questions for each learning objective in the textbook. For this assignment the professor has allows you two tries, and it is due by 8 pm Friday. Lastly, a clicker is required for this class, and there will be two to four questions per lecture. There are four exams in this class. To allow a missed exam(s), at the end of thesemester your lowest exam score will be dropped. However, there are no excuses or ways tomake up any missed homework because it is posted very far in advance. Also, if you miss a class you can write a 300 to 500 word explanation about a current event pertaining to macroeconomics that explains how it connects to concepts that have been discussed in class. This must be emailed to your Section TA within a week of the missed
