CSF: Critical Success Factors: set of factors that makes a company successful, different for every company (Turnover rate of employees)2. More general information, complexity, risk, and cost of failure withdecisions 3. Less structure, and routinenessb. Tactical MGMT: makes decisions for 6 months- a year i. Decision Support Systemc. Operation MGMT: makes decisions about today, or next week; information from data formed in tier belowi. Management information System: decision is tied to the decision-maker, further out in the future, the more unknowns there are- reason why you have “WHAT IF” functions d. Bottom Tier: Non-MGMT: employees concerned with the here and now (staff) i. Transaction Processing Services (TPS): very data-oriented; important- all data is to be processed into information – needs to be good data in order to make good decisions ii.
