Their home or schoolo Positives: you get to see peoples true behaviorso Negatives: you do not have a lot of control, there could be outside factors - Laboratory Observation- observing people in a professional research setting eg. A labo Positives- you have better control of everythingo Negatives. People may act differently because they are not in their natural environment or they may feel like they are being watched- Correlational Studies- has more data collecting and shows the relationship between two variables (range -1 to +1)o -1 is a perfect negative correlation (changing in opposite directions)o +1 is a perfect positive correlation (both go up or down)o 0 means that they are not relation****But just because there is correlation between two variables doesn’t mean the variable causes the other.
