Obtaining knowledge about the world and systems used to help understand the world; to make people better people through knowledge.- With a partner, share your definition of “education” and then create a combined definition with your partner. The knowledge/skills one must gain about the world and systems of the world in order to be a well-rounded person and achieve their life goals/besuccessful in life- Join another pair and share your combined definition of “education”. Overview of the Syllabus:- Required textbook: Woolfolk, A. (2014). Educational Psychology (12th edition). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson. ISBN: 978-0-13-261316-3- This course will be using Top Hat: www.ctl.uga.edu/top-hat/students- Each class will start with a 3-5 minute mindfulness exercise (such as a breathing or meditation exercise)- In-class Activities: 25%, Daily Quizes: 20%, Field Experience: 25%, Exams: 30%- Field Experience: we are required to have 10 hours worth of field experience. These hours must be logged and signed off by an adult who oversaw your work. Examples include (but not limited to) tutoring, after-school program, teaching a sport, etc. You must provide a description of the person you are working with, and then choose one experience from your field experience and relate it to a concept from class.
