What are your post-graduation goals? Do you plan to graduate school? Job search immediately? What does your career path look like? Please describe your post –graduation goals, your intended career path, and the steps you are planning in order to meet your long-term goals. After intending on graduating here at Indiana University, I plan on going into for profit business management or sales. After completion at IU, I intend to search for jobs immediately in order to start my career as fast as possible. During my stay here, I would like to have an internship in order to gain more experience in any of these types of fieldsMy post graduation goals include finding a job in a management or sales position within 6 moths of graduation. The steps I am taking in order to obtain thesegoals are first getting an internship while still here in school to get more experience in my fields of choice. Next, my goal is to obtain a 3.0 GPA by the end of graduation so I have a competitive chance of finding a job immediately following college. Before I get my diploma, I will be beginning my search for jobs well before I leave IU. This will give me a much better opportunity of obtaining a job within 6 months of graduation. Finally, my goal is to be able to move up the latter in some type of company where I am able to be in a leadership position, and making more money. I will do this showing that I am a very knowledgeable and strong worker in the workplace and also choosing a company where this is a possibility of promotionDiscuss your skills and personality type in relation to your chosen career path. Incorporate information you learned from your MBTI, StrengthsQuest and Informational Interview assignment. Do you think that you will enjoy the career(s) that you have in mind? Why or why not?For my strengthquests assignment, the top five strengths I was given were harmony, individualization, empathy, competition, and analytical. For my chosen field of management or sales, strengths like competition, analytical, and individualization are my best strengths to have. By being competitive, it would give me an edge of other salesmen or managers and give me an opportunity to advance inmy career faster than others. Individualization is a great strength for any person in a management position to have because they are able to identify themselves as one person with individual strengths, but also identify that others have their own individual strengths that they can use to complete projects and other things that involve teamwork. Finally, analytical strength is important in these two areas as well.People who have this skill are able to use proven resources to perform better and make more effective and efficient decisions.According to my MBTI survey, my results were I (introvert), S (sensing), F (feeling), and J (judging). According to myersbriggs.org, it would describe my personality as “Quiet, friendly, responsible, and conscientious. Committed and steady in meeting their obligations. Thorough, painstaking, and accurate. Loyal, considerate, notice and remember specifics about people who are important to them, concerned with how others feel. Strive to create an orderly and harmonious environment at work and at home.” While being an introvert may not be the firstchoice for a management position, I believe that other personal qualities such as remembering specifics about who and what are important to people, as well as committed and steady to meet obligations are of great importance when put into a leadership role such as a management position. I will be able to stay on track and getwhatever work there is to be done efficiently and effectively. Finally, after conducting my informational interview assignment with a woman in the field of sales, I was able to confidently say that I have many qualities that would make this field a good fit for me. She explained that good communication skills are of great importance to the job and I believe that my communication skills are one of my top strengths. I am a very friendly person who is able to sense what others want and need and is a great quality to have as a salesmen. In conclusion, I believe that I have chosen the correct career path. Although some of my qualities may not be the same as a majority in the field of management and sales, I think my unique set of skills such as being a quiet leader and commitment to hard work will make up for what I lack in other areas. When thinking about your future, what are the most important aspects that you are considering? (ex. location, salary, duties, flexibility, etc...)When thinking about my future, there are many things to think about. First, location is of great importance when choosing a job. I would like to be able to stay in the Chicago land area around my family. Whether it is in the city or the suburbs, my family is my biggest value, and I would like to be able to work in a location where I am close to them. My next biggest concern would definitely be salary. Starting salary is not the biggest issue when choosing a job but what I could work up to would be my biggest concern. If I am able to go from making $40,000 a year up to $150,000 in 10 to 15 years, then that would be something I would look into. I want a job where I am able to progress and move up the command chain to have a more important position. Finally, duties and flexibility are a concern as well. I would like to be able to start off in a position where I can quickly move into a management position and lookover others because I believe that I do my best when I am leading and not taking orders. I will have to work hard and take the right steps to obtain this position, but isa main goal of mine. Flexibility goes along with this as well. If I am able to obtain a position within a few years, the flexibility will go along with it. I do not want to be working overtime and weekends for very long so I need to choose a job in which I can advance and earn that flexibility.Based on your resume/cover letter critique and mock interview, what are some skills that you feel you could improve before searching for a full-time job? After going through my resume and cover letter
