How To Cite using MLA styleCitation Example 1Citation Example 2Citation Example 3Citation Example 4Citation Example 5Citation Example 5 part 2How To Cite using MLA style(and sample discussion board posts)Citation Example 1I was surprised by Catherine Albanese’s claim that the history of religion in America is a paradox because it involves “religious pluralism (the free existence of many faiths) and postpluralism (the new combinations that occur as people borrow religious ideas and practices from one another)” (11). Of course I know that there are many different religions in America, but I didn’t realize that religions borrowed from one another. I really think they are separate. Either you are Christian, or a Jew, or a Buddhist etc. But, now that I think about it, I suppose that this can happen when Christians start practicing yoga. What other examples of postpluralism are there?Citation Example 2I was surprised by the claim that the history of religion in America is a paradox because it involves “religious pluralism (the free existence of many faiths) and postpluralism (the new combinations that occur as people borrow religious ideas and practices from one another)” (Albanese, America 11). America: Religions & Religion. 5th ed. Boston: Wadsworth, 2012.Citation Example 4I completely agree that the history of religion in America involves “religious pluralism (the free existence of many faiths)” (Albanese, America 11). After all, there are so many different religions here – Native American traditions, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. But, I really am not so sure about the idea of “postpluralism (the new combinations the occur as people borrow religious ideas and practices from one another)” (Albanese, America 11). I always think of religions as really separate things – you can either be a Christian or a Muslim, not both. What kind of evidence will Albanese give for this postpluralism? I’ll have to pay attention in the future. Works CitedAlbanese, Catherine. America: Religions & Religion. 5th ed.
