Guidelines for Project II Presentation1. Each person has 25 minutes, including questions. Time keeping is important. 20 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions is suggested. Dr. Wu will signal at 15and 18 minutes. At 25 minutes, he will STOP thee presentation RUTHLESSLY. 2. Questions are encouraged! 3. Computer presentation (e.g. Powerpoint) is required. Email your file to Dr. Wu by 11am the day of your presentation. Alternatively, you can stop by Dr. Wu’s office to load your file in a flash drive by the same deadline. Late submission is not allowed to avoid disruption due to switching computers. Presentations willstart promptly at 1:55 pm. 4. The font size used should be large enough for people in the back toread. Typically, the smallest font size is 18 points. 24 points orhigher are recommended. Graphs, Figures or Tables are helpful. Colors are more effective than black and white. Do NOT copy theentire text of your report for the presentation. No one really cares to read it on screen. Most people in the audience do not know what your research is. The following flow is suggested:(a) Introduction/Background/Motivation/Prior Research (b) Objectives(c) Methodology/Model and Simulation Conditions (d) Results and Discussions(e) Conclusions/Summary/RecommendationHowever, any creative format is always welcome.Music, movie, animation, skit …etc are welcome aslong as they produce positive effects. If you need anyspecial equipment/facilities, arrange it and inform Dr. Wu at least 1 day before.6. Practice, practice and practice. Do NOT come withoutpractice.7. Do not speak too fast. People need time to digest your words.However, do not stand quietly either.8. Every one will be asked to evaluate the presentation given byothers. Suggestions to improve the presentation are encouraged.9. Speakers should dress up as in a formal presentation to thepublic. 10. Distribute 1 page (< 300 words) abstract before your presentation. Include the title and the names of all the group membersWish you a successful presentation!PEER EVALUATIONScale 1-5 (5 is the highest)Speaker: 1. Is the visual aid clear?2.
