PURPOSE: To describe how you can save your Enterprise Miner project OFF vcl and onto your laptop. Then, how to copy your project BACK ONTO vcl so you can work on it again. 1. In VCL. Create a new project as usual 2. Take note of a. Exactly what you call your project b. Exactly where you save it3. Work on your project as you normally do, creating startup code, adding data sources and working on the diagrams, etc.4. When you are done working on your project, exit Enterprise Miner 5. Go into ‘SAS DataMining’ (MyComputer) so that you can drag the project off the VCL hard drive and onto your laptop6. Find your project and drag it from the blade to your laptop7. Log off VCL. Go about your business. Now, in order to work on your project again… 1. Get a new VCL reservation & connect to your blade 2. ON THE VCL BLADE, navigate to where you saved the file on your laptop 3. Drag the WHOLE FOLDER back onto the blade into the C:\eminer folder4. Say YES to any messages about copying.5. ON THE VCL Blade, Launch Enterprise miner. 6. Select to create a NEW PROJECT (I know, it isn’t “new”, just do it anyway) Type in Name and Path for your ‘new’ project. Type in EXACTLY what you named the project originally. Be sure your path points EXACTLY to where you put it when you copied it back onto the vcl from your laptop.Your project will now be back on the blade, exactly where you left
