It was created to challenge the mind and enflame the spirit.Common QuestionsWhat is the game?This is a text-based adventure game that has a main puzzle to solve of getting off the island. You must interact with your environment and figure out how you can accomplish your goal with the items at your disposal.Why create this game?To get to the grass roots of game creation by creating a story with details that will pull in the gamer and surround them with the world that we built for them so they feel immersed.Where does the game take place?The game takes place in present day on an island in the Pacific that was once a Japanese outpost designed to lookout for incoming ships and aircraft.What do I control?The gamer can control the environment around him/her and interact with certain objects to meet the goal of getting off the island.Confidential Page 1/14/20195Copyright (C) 2005 Slinkysoft – All rights reserved – The Island!What is the main focus?The main focus is to get the character off the island without getting trapped in the pit falls associated with the island that would lead to the character to dying.Feature SetGeneral FeaturesInteractive environment and objectsVivid detail to create a world inside the gamers mindGameplayThe game play allows the gamer to interact with the environment and allows them to make certain decisions that will change the course of the game as they go along.The World LayoutOverviewThe five different locations on the world are as follows: The ocean, the beach, the lookout tower, the lagoon, the jungle and the AA gun.The Ocean:This part was simply created to not allow the user to try and swim off the island. The user can reach the ocean by going north on the beach or south from the AA Gun.The Beach:This is the location where the player finds themselves at the beginning of the game. This is simplya jump off point where the user can get a basic layout of the island.The Lookout Tower:The Lookout Tower is a two part location on the island. It has the outside of the tower where you can see a sign written in Japanese hanging on the outside and also the tower itself that the user can enter. Inside the tower you can find an old radio and pair of binoculars. The binoculars are actually of little importance but can lead the imagination to different places and conclusions without divulging the end Confidential Page 1/14/20195Copyright (C) 2005 Slinkysoft – All rights reserved – The Island!secret of how to get off the island. The radio on the other hand is a key item in the game that the ser must interact with in order to get home safely. This is not a music radio but rather a communication radio.The Lagoon:The lagoon offers two places within the same area of the map, the lagoon area and also inside the lagoon itself. In the lagoon area there is nothing of consequence, but in the lagoon there is a skeleton of a downed pilot that has a vest on that contains a flare gun that the user can retrieve. The catch is that the gun isn’t loaded with a flare, and while you were unharmed entering the water the first time the game begs the question of whether or not there may be flares still in the vest of the skeleton. This is bait for disaster because if the user decides to venture back in the water. Once back in the water the character reaches back into the vest to check for flares and is grabbed by the skeleton, which must be haunted, and is drowned. The Jungle:The Jungle is an environment that has multiple objects in it for the user to interact with. First off there is a plane on the jungle floor that was no
