Hitler Current Lecture Announcement: Holocaust Survivor comes Tuesday March 18th  Russians drop out of WWI by a treaty o Treaty of Brest- Litovsk  Congress denied Wilson of the Treaty of Versailles  Germans are stuck with large payments to the French o They print more money which leads to hyperinflation o Hyperinflation until 1923  The US stops it by sending a group of bankers led by Dawes (Dawes Act)  They sweep up all the money and create new money system  Germans DO NOT owe the US money because they didn’t ratify the Treaty of Versailles  US felt that if they straighten out German economy they will be able to send money to British and French who will pay the US better  1929 US Stock Market Crash  United States o Turns very conservative after the war These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture.
