Hitler Current Lecture Announcement: Holocaust Survivor comes Tuesday March 18th Russians drop out of WWI by a treaty o Treaty of Brest- Litovsk Congress denied Wilson of the Treaty of Versailles Germans are stuck with large payments to the French o They print more money which leads to hyperinflation o Hyperinflation until 1923 The US stops it by sending a group of bankers led by Dawes (Dawes Act) They sweep up all the money and create new money system Germans DO NOT owe the US money because they didn’t ratify the Treaty of Versailles US felt that if they straighten out German economy they will be able to send money to British and French who will pay the US better 1929 US Stock Market Crash United States o Turns very conservative after the war These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture.
