Rivas Ms. Mayen walked into the office tiredly to begin another work day. She sat down in her chair, relaxing her body after a long walk from the congested parking lot. She lifted her arms gradually to fix her puffy, light brown, curly hair. After doing so, Ms. Mayen gets up from her chair, walks two to three steps forward to the coat hanger near the cabinet; she takes off her beige coat, pulling the left arm out of the coat, followed by the right. While holding her coat in her left hand, she fixes her black blouse with her right hand, checking to see if her col-lar is in place, and finally hangs her coat. She turns around and walks back to her desk. Before she sits back at her desk, she squats down to reach the radio on the floor. She turns the radio on, hears the music play, and as she straightens up, a sudden smile appears in her face. She sits on her chair and extends her arms forward to reach a brown container with envelopes in it. She sticks one hand in the box and pulls out ten envelopes. Holding the envelopes in her left hand, she shifts her chair to the left so she can reach the desk drawer. She opens the drawer and pulls out a small, pink “post it” pad. She places it on the desk and begins to shuffle the en-velopes. Her eyes move left to right as she checks a list on her desk, writing on her post it pad, and sticking a post it on each envelope. As she continued to do this task, the pace in which she would shuffle, write, and paste would increase. The movements that she began to make started to have a rhythm- click, clack, and bump. All of a sudden, the phone rang. Ms. Mayen was so concentrated on the task that when she heard the phone ringing, she was star-tled and jumped. After the third ring she sets the envelopes in the brown box and picks up the phone and answers, “Hello, Bilingual office.” After holding the phone and listening for a few seconds, she spoke again, “Ms. Niles is not in office right now, may I take a message?...Ok, I’ll let her know, goodbye”. She hung up the phone and wrote the message on a green post it. Then she stood up from her chair, stretched a bit, and walked towards the
