Psychophysiologists:Study physiological bases of psychological processes.Specific research topics studied:Examine the physiological responses and organ systems innervated by the autonomous nervous system. Generally, they are more interested in the central nervous system, studying EEG and MRI techniques to understood physiological bases of psychological processes.Psychopharmacologists:•Drug abuse and short-term/long-term effects on cognition (especially memory), emotional regulation, and everyday activities•Alcoholism•Side effects and general study of medication drugs on pertinent populationsSpecific research topics studied:Comparative Psychologists:Study various forms of behavior studied across species. They generally compare human behavior with other species.•Sexual behavior•Parental behavior e.g. is it the case that we are more protective of our species (especially our young) than other species?•Cognitive behavior•Other questions/explorations: A large proportion of people who commit crime/are engaged in violence/are in prison , or to generalize, are relatively aggressive, tend to be males. It is interesting to note that even in the animal kingdom, a similar observation can be made (i.e. the males tend to be more aggressive than females).
