Lateralization is the term used to describe the split left and right hemispheres of the brain. Left controls the right side of the body, and vice versa. 2. What are the characteristics of Piaget’s theory of Preoperational thought? Give examples for each. Egocentrism- children are self centered and fail to see other perspectives. For example, if someone breaks the child’s toy, the child would not forgive the other due to the child not being able to understand that the person who broke the toy did not intend to break it.Magical- the unrealistic, irrational thought processes. ex.
