Student Conduct Statement:Students are entitled to receive instruction free from interference by other members of the class. If a student is disruptive, an instructor may ask the student to stop the disruptive behavior and warn the student that such disruptive behavior can result in withdrawal from the course. Try to emphasize understanding ratherthan memorization when you are working on the problems. I recommend that you form studygroups to work together on the problems. Formulas and tables will be included on the test.COURSE POLICIES: Students are responsible for assigned material whether or not it is covered in class. Students are responsible for material covered in class whether or not it is in the text. Working regularly on assigned problems and attending class are essential to survival. You are expected to read the text, preferably before the material is covered in class. Homework will be collected, and daily quizzes will be given from homework to check your progress. Make-up exams are at the discretion of the instructor. In any case, no make-up exam will be given unless the student has notified the instructor before the test is given. Message should be left through email. You must make every reasonable effort to notify me before the exam is given and document your reason for missing the exam.ATTENDANCE POLICY:Class attendance is MANDATORY. The following rules will be strictly enforced by all instructors.The maximum number of allowed absences is four (4) for TTH classes. Students who exceed thenumber of allowed absences will receive a grade of EN.Final Exam Make-up Policy:Except to resolve those situations described below, no changes may be made in this schedule without priorapproval of the Dean of the college in which course is offered. Under this schedule, if a conflict occurs, ora student has more than three exams on one day, the instructors may be consulted about an individualschedule adjustment, if necessary, the matter may be pursued farther with the appropriate dean(s). Thisprocedure applies to conflicts among any combination of Downtown Phoenix campus, Tempe campus,Polytechnic campus, West campus, and/or off campus classes Make-up exams will NOT be given forreasons of non-refundable airline tickets, vacation plans, work schedules, weddings, family reunions andother such activities. Students should consult the final exam schedule before making end-of-semestertravel plans.Tutoring help: The Math Tutor Center is located in PSA-116. You must have a valid ASU "Sun Card" in order to be admitted.
