You get to rehearse 1 hour a day, you have 1 dress rehearsal and 1 performacne. You have a budget of $50. Develop resource library for teaching theatre – - critically review texts relevant to the area of theatre that you are trying to developI’m still ruminating how to do handle the readings. Part of me is thinking that the students should review several texts and develop a resource library as a result of this methods class. I could order from the library a bunch of texts tied to teaching theatre from the authors that you recommended (e.g. heathcote, wang, etc) and from the syllabus I shared with you. The students could go through the stack and identify 1-2 general theatre methods books that they plan to study in depth, be prepared to discusswith each other what they are learning form the text. In addition they could identify, examine and write annotations for 5 resources that will help them deepen their knowledge of some aspect of theatre pedagogy (e.g. building blocks, rehearsal & performance, tech & design).
