Course Description: An introductory overview of the automotive service industry including history, safety practices, shop equipment and tools, vehicle subsystems, service publications, professional responsibilities, and automobile maintenance. B. Course Learning Outcomes: Explain the history of the automobile and career possibilities of the automobile industry; describe safe, professional, and responsible work practices; describe proper use of shop tools and equipment; list the eight Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) vehicle subsystems; explain the use of service publications; and identify automotive maintenance C.
