State University, Ga.This interest inventory was taken at the beginning of school to understand a little more about the student. It allows the teacher to find out more about the students family background. This way the teacher will know what the student likes to do or does not like to do. If the student said that he does not like to write, the teacher may think of a way to make writing fun so the student will learn to enjoy writing. If the students did something fun or unusual during the summer, the teacher can take the information off of the interest inventory and have that topic as the writing piece for the day. Thisway the student can enjoy writing. The questions on this interest inventory were not only used for informational purposes on the student, but also to generate ideas and topics for the student to write about when it is time for writing. This will allow the student to get use to writing, therefore when we start our writing unit, the student will not be lost on how to write. The following information is about the Georgia Writing Test. Writing is by no means a linear process. A person writes, speaks, reads, thinks, and listens all at the same time. I will use the information below to help teach the students the writing process, and show them how all of language is connected. There are six stages of a writer; each child will progress through the stages. Some children may progress faster than others. The Georgia writing test instructional guide will help me with the teaching and assessing of the students in my class.Laura Poss, READ 7140, 6Georgia Writing TestScoring Process for the Georgia Grade Three Writing AssessmentThe writing assessment for grade three is based on the Developmental Stage ScoringGuidelines listed in this guide.
