CSCI450 CISCO LAB 2 Page 1 of 3 1 14 2019 CSCI450 Fundamentals of Cisco Routing Lab 2 Purpose This lab is designed to give the student experience in Configuring a network so that all routers can communicate with each other Verifying all settings Before you attempt to configure the router you should read this lab thoroughly and document the commands and parameters you ll use Note This lab must be completed successfully before any of the remaining labs can be completed Exhibit 1 New York Boston Hartford Chicago You might find the following link helpful http www boson com promo guides RTR CMD PDF Note this is a command summary reference in PDF format so you ll need Acrobat Reader to use print it Your network is 172 16 0 0 24 Note Chicago has a sub interface that needs to be configured If you do not know how to configure a sub interface see page 158 in your text CSCI450 CISCO LAB 2 Page 2 of 3 1 14 2019 Be sure to save you configurations often lest you loose many hours of work Print your lab for each router after you have completed each major configuration step example after completing ip configuration for all interfaces 1 Configure console and enable passwords for all routers 2 Enable telnet on all routers 3 Name your routers and switches appropriately 4 Configure your network routers according the information provided in exhibit 1 on the previous page a DCE DTE clocking is 64 kbs b Be sure to name all your routers appropriately and describe each interface 5 Configure your network switches according the information provided in exhibit 1 on the previous page Note The Catalyst 1900 switches use essentially the same IOS as Cisco routers When you first login to the 1900 you are presented with a menu that allows you to use a menu driven configuration method most of which is inactive in the simulator or a command line interface configuration method The following link gives you information regarding the cli commands you ll need to use Note Switches automatically save your configuration changes http www cisco com univercd cc td doc product lan 28201900 1928v9x cli overvi ew htm a Why does a switch need a default gateway 6 Confirm you have connectivity between all neighboring routers a Explain how you attempted to complete this step 7 Test for connectivity between Host A and Host A1 a Explain how you attempted to complete this step b Were you successful Why or Why not c If you were not successful what do you need to do to establish end to end connectivity 8 Test for connectivity between Host B and Host B1 a Explain how you attempted to complete this step b Were you successful Why or Why not c If you were not successful what do you need to do to establish end to end connectivity CSCI450 CISCO LAB 2 Page 3 of 3 1 14 2019 9 Test for end to end connectivity That is from network 10 to network 50 a Explain how you attempted to complete this step b Were you successful Why or Why not c If you were not successful what do you need to do to establish end to end connectivity
