MATH 251-500 INFORMATION SHEET1 CourseTexas A&M University at Qatar Science Program / Mathematics Department Math 251-500, Spring 2011Engineering Mathematics III (3-0), Credit 3. The first part of this course covers three-dimensional analytic geometry and vectors.The second part deals with differential calculus of functions of several variables: partial and directional derivatives, gradient, andmultivariable optimization (max/min). The third part covers principles and applications of multiple integration—double and tripleintegrals in rectangular, polar, cylindrical, spherical, and generalized coordinates. The fourth part deals with vector calculus—line andsurface integrals and the principal theorems associated with them. The class meets three times a week in lecture. (There is no recitationor computer laboratory.) Make sure that you have read the relevant sections in the textbook beforehand.4. Make-ups for exams will be given only in the case of absenses authorized under University Regulations.5. There are NO makeups for quizzes. However, the lowest two quiz scores will be dropped.6.
