Focus is on the relevance of accounting information with critical thinking for decision making (use) as well as its source (limited preparation). The course relates primarily to financial accounting information and is conceptually based, user oriented, and is taught with a priority on interaction with students and among students, with an emphasis on teaching the student to learn on her/his own. Active learning with students groups and computer applications integrating accounting content are actively used.METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: The instructional techniques used will include a combination of groupsand paired individuals, lecture, problem solving, visual media, class discussion and homework discussion.The student should strive to develop an attitude for intentional learning.REQUIRED MATERIALS: Textbook-Fundamental Financial Accounting Concepts, 5th Edition, Irwin-McGraw-Hill, New York, NY, copyright 2008. You are to attend only the class in which you are enrolled.
