Continue progress on project and assignmentsSite Planning immediate plans topo map of area,  city or county maps of influenced area. Present sewer and other utility lines (approx.). construction stage - various accesses to the site: to avoid undesirable destruction from construction vehicles, movements. power availability ultimate plan - landscape architect’s plans, architectural model of complete facility.Interrelation of spaces and facilities on site buildings: traffic patterns placement orientation safety walkways crowned to stay dry. overhead protection for rain, etc. community use facilities placement and planning. walks and drives, service and parking areas. handicapped parking/ramps. landscaping and screening -sound and visual screens. countouring and draining utilities connections. Purchase land for parking? may save money in later expansion of buildings.Preserving and maximizing existing qualities of a site Selection of architect - may be very important in this respect! has proper job search gone out? or, is architect an ‘inside man’? family people, or from bidding, or from competition. is he sensitive to the problems of your business/IE? can he work creatively with ind. educators (personality)? what responsibilities wil the architect be able to delegate? Are his delegates competent? check the guy’s past work and recommendations...The Architect Responsibilities Architect must bear the primary responsibility for the performance of the building. He must see that all work is done right - if not, the problem must be taken to court, immediately. His fee may be 8 to 10% of the construction costs. Engineering Specs, Architectural
