ATTENDANCE AT SCHEDULED LABS IS MANDATORY Text Human Anatomy by Marieb, Wihelm and Mallat, 6th Edition APS lab manual - Human Anatomy BOTH ARE REQUIRED Materials Lab coat and eye protection are required for labs. Protective aprons and gloves will be provided. Aprons should be monitored for soilage and disposed of appropriately. Student Conduct: Student Conduct: By enrolling in this course, all students are expected to have reviewed the Student Conduct and Sexual Harassment information provided in the current Quarterly catalog (print or online) under “General Information.” Accommodations: If you need any accommodations for a disability, please contact the UCLA Extension Disabled Student Services at: (310) 825-7851 or via e-mail [email protected] Grading Written Exams: Midterm 100 points Final (semi-cumulative) 160 points Quizzes (Administered in lab, including week1) 40 points Practical Exams Practical 1 100 points Practical 2 100 points Total Points 500 points THERE WILL BE NO EXTRA CREDIT Grading Scale: You should assume a straight scale (>90%=A; >80%=B etc.)QUIZZES: A short, 5 point quiz will be given at the beginning of each lab (8 labs for a total of 40 points). Quizzes will include short answers (a few words or a short sentence), fill in the blanks, and multiple choice. They are primarily for your benefit – to ensure that you prepare for the upcoming lab section. THERE WILL BE NO MAKEUP QUIZZES. WRITTEN EXAMS: Multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and short answers (describe, explain, outline, draw) covering material from the previous eight lectures. In addition, the FINAL WRITTEN EXAM will be about 20% cumulative (i.e., with material from before the midterm). Exams are held during class time on Thursday, 7/08/2010 and 7/29/2010. Make-up written exams are only possible in EXTREME cases and you must notify the instructor 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE EXAM! PRACTICAL EXAMS: Each of the two practical exams will cover material from the 4 previous lab sections. You will have open labs the week of practical exams (as shown below). The second practical exam is NOT cumulative. *Note: PRACTICAL EXAMS ARE HELD DURING WEDNESDAY LABS (7/07/2010 & 7/28/2010).
