Topics covered include: planning, evaluating, and control of operations;forecasting and inventory management; scheduling; project design and management;resource allocation; queuing models; quality of the work environment; andtechnological change. Design and implementation of management strategy will beemphasized through computer simulation, problems, and cases. (Not open tostudents who are enrolled in, or who have completed Mathematics 73.2 or Economics31.4.) Prerequisite: Test, Grading Policy: (a) Three exams - 85% (b) Homework 10% (c) Short paper 5%Attendance and class participation will affect your grade as well.Class Meetings:Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:40-2:55 PM. Our first class meetson Monday, Jan 29th and the last class meeting is Wednesday, May 16th. You areresponsible for all material even if you are absent; this includes lectures, homeworksand exams. Make sure you get the notes, assignments and exam dates from someoneif you miss a class. Attendance and class participation can impact your grade. Thereare no classes on Feb 12th and Feb 19th. We will meet on Thurs, Feb 15th andWednesday, Feb 21st which are Monday conversion days.Academic Regulations: It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with theacademic regulations of the college. They are found in Brooklyn College Bulletin aswell as the Student Handbook.
