Let’s take a look at the SPSS procedures using an example…ONE-WAY ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE (ANOVA) – SPSS STEPSTHERE ARE TWO WAYS TO CONDUCT THE ONE-WAY ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE IN SPSSLET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE SPSS PROCEDURES USING AN EXAMPLE…OPTION ONE:- Open the dataset to be used in the ANOVA analysis.- Click Analyze, click (mouse over) Compare Means, and click One-Way ANOVA- You should now be in the One-Way ANOVA dialog box.- Click on your (Dependent Variable), and click ► to move it to the Dependent List: box.- Click on your (Independent Variable), and click ► to move it to the Factor: box.- Click Post HocANOVA – SPSSPage - 2- The One-Way ANOVA: Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons dialog box is shown…- Under the Equal Variances Assumed section – select [] the Tukey box.- Under the Equal Variances Not Assumed section – select [] the Games-Howell box.- Then click Continue.ANOVA – SPSSPage - 3- You should now be back at the One-Way ANOVA dialog box.- Click Options, the One-Way ANOVA: Options dialog box is shown… (then as a minimum)- Under the Statistics section – select [] the Descriptive box.ANOVA – SPSSPage - 4- Under the Statistics section – select [] the Homogeneity of Variance Test box.- Then click Continue.- You should now be back at the One-Way ANOVA dialog box.- Click OK to run the ANOVA analysis.- You are now ready to analyze the output data…ANOVA – SPSSPage - 5OPTION TWO:- Open the dataset to be used in the ANOVA analysis.- Click Analyze, click (mouse over) General Linear Model, and click UnivariateANOVA – SPSSPage - 6- You should now be in the Univariate dialog box.- Click on your (Dependent Variable), and click ► to move it to the Dependent Variable: box.- Click on your (Independent Variable), and click ► to move it to either the Fixed Factor(s): or Random Factor(s): box.
