The goal of this course is to help students to acquire specific skills necessary to develop behavioral research. Specifically, the course discusses data analysis and experimental procedures related to the following topics (see below). Tis course will begin with a brief introduction to Visual Basic Application (VBA), and go over seminal papers in cognitive psychology. (1) Visual Basic Application (VBA)(2) Attention (attention blink, Simon effect, Stroop effect)(3) Perception (Muller-Lyer illusion, visual search)(4) Neruocogniton (brain asymmetry, blind spot)(5) Sensory memory (meta-cognitive masking, suffix effect)(6) Working memory (working memory, operation span)(7) Memory processes and metamemory (level of processing, encoding specificity, Von Restorff effect, remember / know effect)(8) Language, Concepts and Judgment (word superiority effect, absolute identification, implicit learning, risky decision)Evaluation:3 Homeworks (30% =10% + 10% + 10% ): There will be 3 homeworks.
