The student will analyze the market conditions that are responsible for change in supply, demand and equilibrium levels.2. The student will evaluate various governmental interventions in the economy done to solve problems of externalities, employment, and economic stability.2 3. The student will compare and contrast Classical, Keynesian, Monetarist and other employment theories.4. The student will solve problems related to the national accounts and the various multipliers that effect the economy. 5. The student will synthesize information from reading assignments, class lectures and class discussions in the evaluation of economic events from the past and the present.EVALUATION: The student will be graded on section exams, writingassignments, a final exam and other assignments as established by theinstructor.A written assignment is a part of this class. You will be expected to writeshort critical position papers (3) dealing with various aspects of economictheory and how it relates to the real world. These assignments will beexplained and the information necessary to complete the papersdistributed separately in class.There will be several midterms and a comprehensive final. I DO NOTGIVE MAKE-UP EXAMINATIONS unless arrangements have been madeprior to the exam. I use a modified percentage curve, which will beexplained in full after the first test. I expect people to be on time. Attendance is taken inthe first five minutes of class. Those that are late without anexcuse, will be treated as absent for the day. Repeated absencesof any type will result in the student being dropped.Likewise, leaving class early without the courtesy of first askingthe instructor is be counted as an absence. A person may bedropped by the instructor for repeated attendance violations.Cell Phones and BeepersCourtesy requires that you turn your phones and beepers offprior to class. If the instructor has to ask a student to turntheir phone off repeatedly, they will be asked to leave theclass.Talking In ClassPlease refrain from talking in class; others may be interested inlearning about the topic under discussion. If you have todiscuss something, DON'T BOTHER COMING TO CLASS. Repeatedinfractions will result in EXPULSION from the class. I have notolerance for discourteous
