Scholarships totaling $3,000 are awarded to twelve students through Career Fair and North Dakota Opportunities Night. Special thanks to contributors who have made the distribution of 201 awards possi-ble. Approximately 55% of scholarship contributions are from corporate sources and 45% from private support. We are grateful to those who contributed cash gifts and invested gifts to help us reach $240,919 in support of our students. Peterson, Dean College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences PRESENTATION In grateful acknowledgment of the many gifts provided by private and corporate contributors, the following awards are made possible: ALLIED SCIENCES Allied Sciences Alumni & Friends Scholarship A $250 scholarship awarded on the basis of scholarship, merit and need. Funding for this scholarship is provided by annual alumni and friends contributions. Tasha Peltier, Ft. Yates, ND CAPP Scholarship A $500 award to an allied sciences intern based on *C*ommitment to their major, putting *A*dvice to *P*ractice, and* P*erseverance. This award was funded by Polly Olson, recipient of the 2009 Dean's Award for Outstanding Advising in the College. Nicole Bunn, Sheldon, ND Deans Scholarship-Allied Sciences Three $1,000 scholarships awarded by the Office of the Dean to allied sciences students based on high scholastic achievement, extracurricular involvement and demonstrated leadership within the college. Daniel Clark, Horace, ND Alyson Maine, Forman, ND Abigail Malone, Wadena, MN Meritcare-Mary Jo Langenwalter CLS Scholarship* A $500 awards presented to students accepted into the MeritCare School of Clinical Laboratory Science to be used toward tuition. Tristin Frank, Levittown, NY Wal-Mart Foundation Scholarship Four $1,000 scholarships awarded to pharmacy students in the final three years of the professional program on the basis of high scholarship, strong leadership qualities, financial need and interest in community pharmacy practice. Nicole Engelmeyer (P4), Melrose, MN Heather Nelson (P3), Grand Forks, ND Darrick O'Brien (P3), Anoka, MN Margaret Wallace (P4), Plainview, MN Anthony M. and Zona M. Walter Scholarship A $300 scholarship awarded to a pharmacy student with financial need. Taviah Lothspeich (P3), Wyndmere, ND Welder (1961) Scholarship A $1,000 scholarship given to a pharmacy student in the final two years of the professional program who is interested in independent pharmacy and has NCPA involvement. Alyson Larson (P3), West Fargo, ND Women’s International Pharmacy Scholarship A $500 scholarship given to a student interested in women’s health. Brianna Johnson (P2), Warren, MN Beau Young (1943) Memorial Scholarship A $200 scholarship awarded to a pharmacy student from North Dakota on the basis of scholarship, merit and need. Allison Hursman (P3), Langdon, NDRobert (1966) & Marti Tuchscherer/Vista Pharmacy Scholarship (Fort Scott, KS) Two $500 scholarships awarded to deserving students on the basis of scholarship, merit and need with a preference given to students from McHenry County area of North Dakota. Tracy Krueger (P3), Drake, ND Amanda Volochenko (P2), Drake, ND Bradley J. Undem (1979) and Nancy Fercho Undem (1979) Pharmacy Legacy Scholarship A $500 scholarship is awarded to a deserving student with a preference given to a student whose parent(s) is or was a pharmacist. Paul Rummel (P3), Lemmon, SD Muriel C. Vincent Pharmacy Scholarship A $475 scholarship awarded to a pharmacy student on the basis of academic abil-ity, merit and need. Dr. Vincent is a former Assistant Dean of the College of Pharmacy. Maureen Hickey (P4), Savage, MN Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. (1968 Honorary Doctor of Science) Scholarship Three $1,000 scholarships awarded to pharmacy students based on scholarship, merit, need, leadership abilities and interest in community pharmacy. Carly Hagemeyer (P3), Raymond, MN Jessica Korsten (P4), Zumbrota, MN Sarah Zimmerman (P3), Eden Prairie, MN C. R. Walgreen Excellence Scholarship Two $2,000 scholarships awarded to pharmacy students in their final year of the professional program having leadership and communication skills with an interest in community pharmacy practice. Kelly Frank (P4), West Fargo, ND Alissa Larson (P4), Morris, MN Walgreens Diversity Scholarship A $2,000 scholarship awarded on the basis of significant efforts toward raising awareness or play an active role in educating others about cultural competency and diversity related matters impacting the pharmacy profession. Emily Olson (P3), White Bear Lake, MN Michael Sologuk Memorial Scholarship A $300 scholarship awarded to a junior or senior respiratory care major accepted into the internship at MeritCare Medical Center. This scholarship was established to promote knowledge of cystic fibrosis; one criterion for selection of the recipient is an essay pertaining to cystic fibrosis. Lindsay Schmitz, Perham, MN NURSING Hazel B. Berve Trust Scholarship A $374 scholarship awarded to provide help for the last two (2) years education of expenses for male student(s) in Registered Nurse Training in the State of North Dakota or Minnesota. Jordan Idso, West Fargo, ND Albert & Celeste Brauer Scholarship A $1,140 scholarship awarded to a nursing student on the basis of scholarship, merit
