Notes on learning objectivesI can imagine a lesson in which students bring in their strongest lesson plans to date. After analyzing what they are actually including in their objectives, I could describe essential components – they could analyze who they are referring to (sdtudetn/teacher) what’s missing and re-write SLOs using lesson. EALRS – only list those Ealrs that you will actually help students extend their understanding of. If you are helping to myelinate others, that’s great, but be clear to distinguish between when it’s a practice vs. a learning opportunity.“To understand” is a vague phrase. What kinds of thinking do you want them to use and demonstrate? Use Blooms taxonomy.- To understand the expression of emotion through art/illustrations- To understand that artists/illustators use color to convey emotionsDistinguish between the goals you have for yourself as a teacher, and those you have for the students.Cool objective that spells out learning opportunity, where’s blooms verb in the skills/knowledge reasoning they will demonstrate. The students will be given a power point presentation on several indigenous art pieces and the paint making process, in addition to cooperatively making one color of paint in a small group. Their understanding of how proportions of ingredients can influence color, hue and intensity will be assessed through an art walk, presentation of group work and completed hand out. What are all the parts after the SWBAT. Sounds like the cat and caboodle are part of the lesson. Very big scope. Be more specific as to what you can really accomplish in a lesson. What is the one specific learning opportunity you are working with?Given a power point presentation on Islamic history, cosmology and art, SWBAT analyze in a group discussion Islamic art according to the principles of rhythm, Islamic cosmology, and general historical contexts. How will students learn the style? Assessment present SLO: Students will understand the writing style of Ekphrastic literature. Students will be able to create an Ekphrastic piece of literature in response to their experience of 1 out of 12 pieces of multicultural art.Whats the learning opportunity? How is an activity different than a learning opportunityBy the end of the lesson, students will be able to demonstrate the concept of Movement within an artistic context. Students will design and create a flip book out of post-it notes (10-25 notes/frames total) and the progression of an image will demonstrate understanding of the concept. What did you do to teach that understanding? Is showing people models of maps the same as teaching them how to represent different kinds of information? What’s the appropriate Blooms word for what you taught and expected us to do? SLO: SWBAT understand how to use graphs to represent different kinds of information, see how the shape and format of the graph can be used to tell a story and emphasize or misrepresent
