Gantt Chart The proposed project work will begin on January 16th with a goal of completion set for May 7th. The work has been laid out as M-F with 4 hours of work per day. Several tasks over lap in both days and phases. This was done to maximize efficiency. The overall phase breakdown can be seen in the figure below. Time to Completion0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90ResearchDesignHW ImplementationTestingFabricationDocumentationDays Figure 1: DFBCS Gantt Chart The research phase will consist of component identification and selection. Also each feature will be researched thoroughly to see if its application in our design for a classic car is feasible. Each of these tasks shown will require the elaboration of the problem, then with the decision for our solution.Research Phase0 5 10 15 20 25 301.1.1 Text Field Size1.1.2 Display Resolutions1.2.1 Size Constraints 1.2.2 Current / Temp Constraints1.2.3 Circuit Components1.3.1 Painless Wiring Harnesses1.3.1.1 8 Fuse1.3.1.2 12 Fuse1.3.1.3 18 fuse1.3.2 Power selections1.3.2.1 Essential Acc.1.3.2.2 Battery1.3.2.3 Non-Essentrial Acc.1.3.3. During this phase we will layout our complete system. Several tasks take place on the same set of days, this is due to their research being closely related, but the multi-tasking will be watched closely.Design Phase0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 452.1.1 Connections2.1.1.1 RS - 2322.1.1.2 Wiring Clamps2.1.1.3 PCB Harness2.2.1 Required Amps2.2.2 Voltages and Currents2.2.3 Power Sources Bat. / Alt.2.3.1 Trace Layout2.3.2 Component Layout2.3.3 Wiring Connection2.4.1 Programming Structure2.4.2 Programming Architecture2.4.2.1 ColdFire 2.4.2.2 MPC5552.4.3 Memory Size2.5.1 Antenna2.5.2 Remote2.5.3 µC Programming2.5.4 System Inerfacing2.5.5 Remote PCB Add-onTaskDays Figure 3: Design Phase Gantt Chart The hardware implementation phase is next. It is based heavily on the procurement of items and testing/implementing them on a breadboard for both proof of concept and testing before fabrication. This timeline can be seen in the figure below. This phase has the greatest potential for delaying our project since it depends heavily on awaiting ordered components.Hardware Implementation Phase0 10 20 30 40 50 603.1.1 Car Battery3.1.2 PCB3.1.3 10 Gauge Wire3.2.1 Wiring Harness3.2.2 PCB3.3.1 Signal Conditioning Circuitry3.3.1.1 Filtering3.3.1.2 Rectification3.3.1.3 Amplification3.3.2 Power Control Circuitry3.3.2.1 Voltage Regulator3.3.3 Signal Control3.4.1 Ventilation3.4.2 Microcontroller & PCB 3.4.3 Wiring Harness OpeningTaskDays (M-F Starting 01/16/07) Figure 4: Hardware Implementation Phase Gantt Chart Next is the testing phase. It will primarily consist of testing the design with a car and making sure it behaves as it should. This phase will produce the final write up for delivery to our sponsor. It will consist of producing a manual and manufacturing instructions. This will show our results and work the best for our sponsors.
