We plan anaggressive capital acquisition campaign to raise the cash needed to bringOmniSense to profitability. We will approach private venture capital firms thatspecialize in investing in small high-tech start-ups. The initial round of capitalwill be spent acquiring office space and furniture, marketing materials such asbrochures, Internet and phone systems for phone and web marketing, andother miscellaneous expenses such as travel and conference fees.Initial plans for OmniSense are to approach security and other monitoringfirms to develop profitable partnerships. This will give us a steady source ofrevenue and allow our partners to add value to their existing product lines.Another avenue that we will be pursuing is military contracts for battlefieldmonitoring systems. The Department of Defense has shown great interest inthe technology that we are developing, and we can provide a competitiveproposal to military request for proposals that are involved in the area ofwireless battlefield monitoring. We are starting this business under the assumption that terrorism, fear, andparanoia will continue to plague the United States and the world in thesubsequent years. As government spending continues to increase in the Waron Terror, we see the opportunity to capitalize. Government demand for ourtechnology will be affected very little by the economic situations of the countryor world since this fight against an unseen enemy will nearly always be at theforefront of the collective public mind.As indicated in the preceding market analysis, the manufacturing andgovernment (nonmilitary) will also be markets that we will be pursuing. Largemanufacturing firms need to accurately monitor their manufacturing processes. We will approach these firms directly rather than though our partnerships withmonitoring firms. The nonmilitary market that exists in the government will beprimarily law enforcement and homeland security. This will be handledseparately from our military bids.6.2 Break-Even AnalysisTable 2 outlines the costto retain employees.Table 3 contains the othercosts incurred in a typicalmonth. The values from Table 2 and 3 were used in calculating the point at which OmniSense will become profitable.Employee YearlySalaryMonthlySalaryThomasButler$50,000 $4,166.67MikeMiddleton$45,000 $3,750.00KellyLancaster$45,000 $3,750.00KennabecWalp$60,000 $5,000.00Technician $25,000
