The weights for the final grade are as follows: Exams 54% (27% for each of 2 exams) Quizzes 26% (13% for each of 2 quizzes) Assignments 16% (2% for each of 8 assignments) Class Participation 4% Quizzes 1 and 2 : The quizzes content will focus on the topics presented during the 3 to 5 lectures prior to each quiz. These quizzes are closed book and will consist of 10 to 14 free response type items. Approximately 30 minutes at the beginning of class will be provided for quiz administration. Some equations will be provided for the quizzes for working problems. You may bring a calculator to the quizzes, however calculators may not be shared. Exams: The content of Exams I & II will cover topics presented in 1st and 2nd half of the course respectively. However, due to the cumulative nature of the course content, key concepts from earlier sections will often be involved in later parts of the course and may be tested on more than one exam. The exams are closed book and will consist of multiple-choice items. Students will be provided 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete each exam. A single 8.5 x 11 crib sheet may be used for each of the exams. Additionally, you may bring a calculator to the exams, however calculators may not be shared. You will be asked to sign the following Honor Pledge which will be attached to each test: I pledge on my honor that I have not given or received any unauthorized assistance on this test.
