Questions should be neatly written andcommunicate some thought and effort for credit. These questions are to help focus recitation time on topics thatare presenting difficulties. Example: I'm confused about the lecture covering the assignment of R or S tostereocenters. How is R or S assigned to a stereocenter in a 3D formula?Recitation Quizzes: Quizzes will be given at the end of most recitations and they will be based primarily on recitation discussions and assigned problems. Suggested homework problems, any extra problems and current lecture material are possible sources of questions. Homework: Completed homework (suggested and assigned extra problems) handed in on time* for everychapter can provide 10 extra points. Homework problems will be collected (but not returned) in recitation.Make ‘study’ copies if you don't have an answer book. *(On time, the TA/IA will set due dates.)Test corrections and adjustments: Any changes to hour test scores must be requested in the recitation prior tosubmission to recoup points for wrong answers OR by notation* accompanying the recouped point submission. After this point no adjustments or corrections will be made. [*Examples: (1) My total score is added wrong, please check; (2) It appears question 2 was not graded, please look at this problem.]Study Groups and structured extra study: Small group study of course material has proven to be a veryeffective method of mastering difficult material. A sign-up sheet will be posted or passed out in recitation forformation of study groups (3-8 people) that should meet a minimum of 3 times a week for an hour at a specifictime and place. Each meeting a roll should be passed around for signature, student number and date. A week'sattendance roll will be turned into your TA/IA in recitation and groups are encouraged to add a brief commentdescribing the topics discussed and noting unresolved questions. A structured outside of class study effort isencouraged (OnLine tutorials [OWL], workbook, software, tutors, etc.). You TA should be notified during thefirst week of recitation of such efforts and progress
